I'm looking for a good head shop in the Lansing area. I'm trying to buy a new glass or ceramic pipe. I'm looking for anything from a sherlock to a bong to a hookah. I just need some smoking device to use for either tobacco or marijuana :)
ReplyDeleteShould I be looking at any tobacco store or are there certain places that specialize in glass pieces in the area. I'm from East Lansing Michigan to be specific.
Downtown East Lansing has several good spots to get blown glass from. It depends what you're looking for I guess. Do you want pipes from well established glass blowing companies or locals who make their glass bowls for fun or small profits! I talked to the woman who works at Oz about how the creators energy directly influences the bowls chi. Very cool stuff!

ReplyDeleteOn the actual strip (e.g. Grand River Ave.) there are four very nice headshops. They are (going from west to east) Krazy Kat and Silver Streak, Inflight Sports, Oz, and Wild Side Smoke Shop. They all have their ups and downs, but you really can't go wrong with any of them.
Krazy Kat has some pretty awesome glass, but it's a little pricey. You can tell it's quality glass though. They also stock Salvia Divinorum, a legal psychoactive substance (it's pretty cool). They keep all of their pipes and bongs and other glassware in their back room, so they have a lot of room in the rest of the store for incense, decor (flags and beads and cool stuff), and crazy-ass lights.
Inflight Sports is pretty cool too. They have a HUGE selection of glass, and they carry ROOR glass. Their prices are very reasonable, too. But this place always has a draw for me because it also carries hemp clothing, frisbees and disc golf equipment, shoes, etc. Pretty cool stuff. This is a great place to get a pipe for anybody; I don't regret the pipe I got. Check out their chillums.
Oz is my favorite. I'm not sure on this, but I heard that they stocked glass from lesser-known artists that were still gaining popularity. Whatever; this place is tight. All of the glass here is CRAZY awesome; like real art. Some of the pieces are mind-blowing (no pun intended) and they're all CHEAP!!! It's so awesome to pick a sweet-ass pipe out for a pittance. This is where I got my bowl and bubbler. And the two ladies who work there are super nice/helpful, just ask if they got anything new in and they'll show you some pretty sweet shit.
I don't know as much about Wild Side, but from being in it it seems pretty legit. They have some really nice bongs, though, not gonna lie. It's kinda like inflight in terms of selection but there's nothing but glass; no clothing or decor or funky stuff. But it's got a pretty sweet selection and the guy who works there is hella nice! They also stock salvia, I've heard.

NEVER SHOP AT WILDSIDE SMOKE SHOP! I PURCHASED A 450$ ROYALTY GLASS WATER PIPE THERE ON SATURDAY OCTOBER 24, 2009 AND WHEN I FIRST USED IT I NOTICED THE PIPE WAS DEFECTIVE. THE MANAGER TRIED TO CONVINCE ME IT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE LIKE THAT. IT MOST DEFINATELY WAS NOT. AFTER ESTABLISHING THAT, WE ESTABLISHED THAT NO ONE KNEW ABOUT THE DEFECT AND COULD NOT HAVE, UNLESS THEY USED THE PIPE. BUT, AFTER THE PIPE HAS BEEN USED THERE IS NOTHING THE STORE WILL DO ABOUT IT!THE STORE AND THE MANUFACTURER REFUSED TO CREDIT OR REIMBURSE ME IN ANY WAY. I AM NOW OUT OVER 300$ AND HAVE NO WORKING GLASS PIPE TO SHOW FOR IT!!!! BEWARE!!
ReplyDeletesame thing happened to my friend had a crack that was under a sticker when they sold it,then said we did it! but the crack was like an elongated bubble inside the glass, like we blew the glass and left the air in there in a crack fashion,, BS! Sorry about your issue sucks!
DeleteI go to sucasa they have way cheaper stuff, its not in east lansing, i think its on cedar. but if your not looking to spend $600 on a pipe or vapourizer go there. they have like 10 different kinds of vapourizers. they are awsome best way to smoke i got one myself lol. I would say they have more overall selection of everything you would need.

DeleteWild Side Smoke Shop is the best smoke shop in east lansing period!! I'm in there at least 3 times a week!! I've got like six peice from there and they all kick ass!! The dudes there are cool as hell!! And they hook up the fat deals!! Just check it out for yourself!!

Deletethe best head shop in east lansing is z planet. they blow custom pipes for you and have a great selection but they're all reasonably priced. a custom job costs just as much as a regular and the staff are helpful and good.

Make sure you have time because their glass selection is insane and the prices from what I've compared are the best around, especially on glass and vaporizers. Really laid back attitudes with a lot of really cool shit!!

ReplyDeleteI agree with the Krazy Katz Dude 317 East Grand River. they have the best selection the best quality glass and the cheapest prices too. just go and compare, plus they dont fill you with a bunch of bullshit like the other shops due. All the guys that work there are super cool and helpfull, they even give you free samples of their smoking blends they carry. best i have ever tried K2 (Krazy Katz) their exclusive product just go in and ask them for a free sample. they'll hook you up. The girls that work there are super cool and super hot too. Plus they know what theyre talking about.

ReplyDeleteI walked out with a one kink ZONG bong with a box and a sifter gringer for 71 bux!! I love my bong and my grinder gives me more everyday!
It is nice to see them getting more awesome gear in everytime I go.....we will see how long they are the "small" shop!!
I also love to go to In Flight when I am on that side of town.....even though Blown has cheaper discs.
It is great that there are so many talented glass blowers in America. Making glass bowls or glass bubblers is a good way for someone to be able to express their artistic side but still be able to make a living. When you think about it there are very few other trades where this is possible. Artisan crafts cost a bit more than massed produced stuff but they are worth it for the joy they bring.
